Uncle Charlie and Dear Cousins Todd, Kim, Derek and Barry: There are no words I could offer you to ease the pain of the loss of your mom and wife. Auntie Heloise is an amazing person. She touched so many lives in a deep and meaningful way. But most importantly, yours. She was a remarkable mother, and each one of you is a reflection of her best qualities. Kim (my Pita) you possess her wisdom, beauty and grace. Todd, you always see the best in others in a non-judgemental way. The gift that brought her so many "best" friends. Derek, so hard working and unselfish. Unwavering and dedicated to your family. I love that about you. Barry her sheer joyfulness and ability to love our family unconditionally -hard and deeply. What a blessing for us all to have shared our lives with her. Charlie, I thank you for making my auntie glow all over. She was the happiest I have ever known her to be with you. Your loving relationship has impressed me more than you will ever know. We miss her so much already, and she has only been gone from our lives for a few days. The road ahead will be long and hard without out her, but I know that we will see her again in the resurrection that Jehovah promised us in the Bible. I love you all so very much. I can't image how deeply you are hurting because this loss is beyond painful for me. But we will get through our grief together. I am here for you. The Family is all here for you- whatever you need. Today, tomorrow and always. With deepest Sympathy, Your Cousin Tammi

Sending my deepest sympathy to Heloise Poitier Gies family. During these dark days and nights ahead you will need someone to lean upon. That person is Jehovah. In Isaiah 41: 10,13 says that He is keeping fast hold of you with his right hand, saying , 'Do not be afraid, I myself will help you.' In times like these you really need Jehovah on your side. The one you can always count on to be there anytime day of night. Early in the morning or late at night when you are not able to sleep the God of all comfort will be there for you. New Haven, CT.

To husband, Charlie, and to family and friends of Heloise (Poitier-Lewis) Gies, I send my deepest condolences. We are all here for you -- as she would have it, too. We have lost a great woman, sister, friend in Heloise. Her love for people was so boundless, sensitive, but passionate, and inclusive, and one of her deepest desires was to see all those she loved, and all those they loved, secure and happy, on an earthly paradise when all that bring us pain is gone forever. I will always remember how intriguing it was to hear her express that, years ago. She fully expended herself over all the years I've known her to help people get there. No one was a stranger to her. I will always remember her willingness to reach beyond her energies, resources, and often her patience, to do what she truly believed helped. May all of us be comforted in knowing that Jehovah won't forget her works either or their impact (which she didn't always appreciate). (Hebrews 6:10). She rests now, asleep, but in the memory of the God of the living, not of the dead, Jehovah. (Matt 22:32). She continues my friend. With special affection and love for you Charlie, Haz and Kim -- from her "spiritual daughter," Aquanetta

I can't even say, I'll be here for you because maybe I'm not what you need. Earth has no sorrows that Heaven can not bare. It is with a bitter sweet heart that I leave this message to Charlie, the Poitier, Lewis, Sullivan, Jackson,Jenkins, Bolden, Marks, Washington Famlies of Helois. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow has yet to come, but today is here...let us live in peace, love and happiness as we continue on the straight and narrow path, which is a part of our life's walk, while here on earth. I cannot begin to feel the pain each of you are in even-though I've suffered the loss of (both) parents, brother, son, husband and now my dear sister. For each of us handles or processes things so differently. But I do sincerely know, with time, with loving memories and the "Grace of God" we shall be able to endure spiritually as well as phyiscally....For time does have a way of healing and easing all negativity. So,please be encouraged and be of good cheer. Take delight in knowing Heloise shall live on, forever within our hearts.
