Obituary of Gertrude S. Gilson

Gertrude S. Gilson, age 79, died on July 21, 2008 at her home in Sterling, VA. She was born on July 29, 1928 in Boston, MA to the late Percy C. and Gertrude F. Shaffer. Gertrude was the beloved wife of 24 years of the late Major Thomas L. Gilson, the loving companion of 21 years of the late Donald Fisher, loving and devoted mother of Deborah Free of Ft. Valley, VA, Pam Randolph of Shenandoah Junction, WV and Karen Parcelli of Leesburg, VA, sister of Florence Swanson of Wilmington, NC and the late Barbara Austin, proud grandmother of Kristina, Katelyn and Thomas. Gertrude was the Vice Queen of the Cascade Senior Center Red Hat Mommas and an active Volunteer at the Cascades Senior Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 29 th from 6-8pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30 th at 2pm. Interment will be held on Wednesday, August 6 th at 3pm at Arlington National Cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Cascades Senior Center, Sterling,
