Idly browsing online, I was saddened to come across this obituary. I live in Scotland, and around the age of 10 or so, Sherry was my penfriend . We gradually stopped writing to each other in our early teens, but I've always remembered Sherry. A warm and bubbly personality even then, apparent in her letters.

Mrs. Graves always had an open door for the friends of her children. I've known her son Adam for 18 years now, and have always thought the world of Mrs. Graves. She was a warm, loving woman who always made me feel welcome in her home. I will miss her.

I miss my friend, Sherry, at Forest Edge! Her smiling face was the best way to start each day. She was always available to support teachers and students, but her kindness was her best quality. I thank her for her push to do National Boards. I was so proud to share my news with Sherry, and her "Congratulations!" meant more than the one from NB. My life is ever changed because of her. I loved her very much.

The retired staff of Forest Edge Elementary School mourn the loss of their beloved colleague Sherry. During her health difficulties, she once said she needed the group not only for support, but as substitutes for the cousins she didn't have. When she was able to join us for lunch, we were delighted. She will be missed by all!

Sherry's legacy continues through all she touched. I was honored to teach with her for many years, and constantly inspired by her calm resolve and dedication to improving young lives. Sherry always reached out from within; her influence shaped many to give as selflessly. She remains the 'Teacher of the Year' to many of us.

My family was very saddened to read of Sherry's passing. We will treasure the memories of her wonderful coffee cakes arriving at our door. My daughter Audrey and I often reminisce about those days. Our thoughts are with you and your family and so glad we had a chance to get to know you.

MiMi always hugged me, kissed my cheek, told me to keep up the good work, and how proud of me she was. Meant a lot to me...Probably more than she realized.
