Tracy Fautley
Manassas resident Tracy L. Fautley, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 15, 2012 after sudden cardiac arrest. She was 42.
Tracy traveled with her family in the Coast Guard throughout her childhood years. She was born in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and lived in New Jersey, New York, California, and Virginia. When her family was stationed at Governor's Island, NY, she had the best view in the city from her living room window: the Statue of Liberty, the Twin Tower World Trade Centers, and the steady passage of the Staten Island Ferry crossing New York Harbor. She attended middle school in Manhattan and graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School in Cape May, NJ.
She moved to Petaluma, California with her parents in 1987. When her father retired from the Coast Guard and relocated to Michigan, Tracy's love of California and spirit of adventure caused her to remain in California. She loved to travel, visiting Hawaii with friends, and briefly attending Santa Rosa Junior College. While waitressing at Jerome's of Petaluma, she met Timothy Fautley and was married on April 16 th , 1994. In 1999, her beautiful daughter Brianna Fautley was born.
Tracy became disabled in 2003. Though she worked hard to manage her illness and her family, the strain of the illness led to a divorce, and in 2004, Tracy came to live near her parents in Virginia. Once there, she met Mark Costello and he became her friend and partner, sharing much joy and love over the years. She sang to Mark every day, bringing hope and happiness. She talked with her daughter, wrote her letters, and visited her as much as she could, culminating in a week-long visit with her in November. She laughed with her friends while sharing stories and learning to cook.
Tracy was a source of love for many. She is survived by her daughter Brianna, her parents Thomas and Sharon Gildea, her sister Tammy Breene and Tammy's family (husband John, and nephews PJ and Ben), her brother Judson and his family (wife Gabriela, niece Juliann a, and nephews Alex and Nicky) and her partner, Mark Costello.
Visitation and services for Tracy Fautley will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Herndon, Virginia on April 3 rd , 2012. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 and the funeral service will begin at 11:00, followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, family members are in the process of establishing a Trust Fund for Brianna Fautley and request any donations be made to the Fund once the fund administration is finalized.
