My dear friend Mary will be saddley missed by all of her parish family. For the last couple of years I would pick up Mary for church and take her home afterwards. She would be ready at the door of her apartment building waiting to go to church in every kind of weather. She was such a joy. Her small little hand would fit inside of mine as I held it to walk to the car, and into church, as she took these tiny small steps. She always had such a bright outlook on things. Any direction I would try to help her with she would reply with this simple "OK". She loved the spring flowers and would often ask me driving home after church if I would take the long way so she could see those flowers and spring trees from the window. Mary had an independent spirit and would often take off on her own to some festival where she so much enjoyed the food they served. I will always remember her with what I called her "Dr. Suse"hat - red, white and blue strips and stripes. I was able to get her into a new Easter bonet last year. Mary was one of my "girls", as we went shopping or other outings. I am so much richer having had little Mary in my life.
