Nina M. Holloway, 98, formerly of Summit Avenue, Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Reston, VA. She was born January 7, 1912, in Fairfield, WV. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Sarah (Younkins) Brooks and was raised in the Boonsboro area by her aunt and uncle, the late George and Lola (Younkins) Haller. She was a member of the Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. She and her husband were known by many as the owners of Holloway's Marine on Summit Avenue in Hagerstown, MD. She was preceded in death by her husband, George "Buster" Holloway. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Britner; her son and his wife, Ronald and Teresa (Ridenour) Holloway; three grandchildren, Preston Britner, Joseph Holloway and Nina (Britner) Somerville; and 5 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Guy, and sisters, Lela and Pauline. A funeral service will be held at 7pm, Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, VA. Friends will be received Thursday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 pm preceding the services. Burial will be at 11 am, Friday, February 5, 2010, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. Friends will be received Friday from 3 to 5 pm at the Plaza Hotel, 1718 Underpass Way, Hagerstown, MD 21740. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
