Obituary of William Howell

William R. Howell, age 82, died on January 29, 2009 in his sleep from complications related to pancreatic cancer. Bill was born in Wayne County, NC on March 13, 1926 to the late Fristus and Katie Howell. Bill was loved by all and spent the last 12 years enjoying life at the Bay in Heathesville, VA. Bill loved his family and friends, teaching by example the values of fishing, farming, religion, and being an honest man. Bill was predeceased by his first wife June Baker Howell and son Kenneth Jay Howell. He is survived by his wife Betty Martz Howell, brother Thadis Howell, daughter Linda Howell, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 1 st at 1pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. Interment will immediately follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Herndon, VA. The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
