Just in Case August 27, 2007 My dear Sis Angelique, I really would like to be at your home passing ceremony today. For several reasons: 1. To acknowledge your presence 2. To be amongst family members to commemorate, celebrate and share that warm family fellowship we always had with those who have gone before 3. And most of all to tell what you meant to the Baker Family Although I might not be able to say this in person, I would like your close family especially the young generation and others to know what a dear and a special individual you have been in the Baker Family. You joined a family with great wealthy in warmth, love, caring, with kind expressions in prayers and circular words. You made no hesitation but warmly embraced the family in 19—and became one of the Bakers who were always present in times of joy, of sorrow and pain. As the youngest in the 2nd generation of Bakers, I express condolences for the Baker-Carter Family. As I reflect, I now realize that there are not as many male Bakers as before. However, I want you to know how happy and proud we are that you have left among your legacy a male Baker in the 3rd generation of Bakers to carry on the responsibility of leadership for the Baker family, to unify and to instill in the younger Bakers of the 3rd , 4th generation and beyond, the attitude of caring and reaching out to others. John 15:5, I am the vine, you are the branches … To your children: Dolly Annette, Jackie, Nathaniel, Jane, and Angie, may the warmth and love of Sis Angelique keep you strong, peaceful and in Unity. To the grandchildren, your grandmother was loving, peaceful, and special. I wish for you to continue her legacy of love, peacefulness, and unity. To the Philip’s family, we loved and adored Sis Angelique just as you loved and adored her. Sis Angelique, we will miss but remember your beautiful dimpled smiles, your soft, calm, and sexy voice, your caring and loving spirit for family, your delicious meals and desserts you always sent on Sunday to Uncle, Fr. Baker. Your years with us have been our blessing. We hate to see you go but God the Father has called you to His Place of Peaceful Rest and for this we honor his call and command and say Goodbye. “This is love for God: to obey his commands. And His commands are not burdensome for everyone born of God overcomes the world” 1 John 5:3-4. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints” Psalm 116:15. Till we meet again
