"Skipper" was my best friend as we both entered our teenage years about 40 years ago. His comraderie was priceless to me then and though we have not been in contact for many years as we were separated by geography and time, I always held and will continue to hold the memories of our friendship and exploits as treasures. I pass my thoughts and prayers to his loved ones.

To the family of Skip, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I first met Skip in 6th grade, attended school with him through high school and worked with him at the Hardware store as well. He was a great guy that was kind to everyone. I know he will be greatly missed by many. May God comfort you and give you peace. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Laura

I knew Skip back in Elementary and Middle School. Played A league football. I am very sorry to have heard of his passing but will always remember Skip as a kind, smiley faced kid from Sterling Park who got along with everyone. My prayers are with him and his family.

Dear Allison and family, I am so sorry to hear about Jim. I met him way back in 6th grade when I transferred to Sully Elementary. Jim's quick wit helped me survive middle school and he kept me laughing all the way through high school. He was a great guy. I hope you will draw strength and comfort from all of us keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. Susan. Nairobi, Kenya

Allison, I was in the 40th Recruit Class with Jim at Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. Our ways parted after Recruit School and I rarely worked even a day with him but, as I recall, he was the first of our class to make Battalion Chief. This was quite an achievement considering some of the talent we had in the 40th! When I picture Jim, I think of his big smile as he rappelled down the tower building in 1977. Our prayers to you and yours, Clyde and Belinda Pittard FXCO Fire and Rescue Station Commander (Retired) New Port Richey, Florida

I was so sad to hear about Skip. I can still see him as he was in 12th grade English class at Broad Run-big smile, big flirt, and really sweet. My deepest sympathies to all the family.
