Obituary of Mukundi Kalombo

Mukundi Kanku Kalombo, 34, died on June 29, 2008 in Richmond, Virginia. She was a resident of the town of Herndon for 26 years, She was born on September 25, 1973 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo to Bitshilualua Kalombo and the late Lukusa Kalombo. She and her family moved to the United States in 1979 and settled in Herndon, Virginia in 1982. Mukundi is a graduate of Herndon High School and the Washington Business School. She contributed her organizational and computing skills as an administrative assistant in a variety of industries. She continually strove to reach her dream of graduating from college. She is survived by her brothers, Lukusa, Kubanai, Bukasa, Luteke, and Kalombo Kalombo, as well as her sisters, Ngalula and Tshanda Kalombo. She also leaves behind relatives in the United States, Europe, and Africa. Her friends and family will forever remember and miss her warmth, compassion and love for humanity, her generosity of spirit and her devotion to loved ones. She touched many people's hearts. Viewing and funeral services for Mukundi were held on July 5, 2008 at the Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Virginia. Pastor Jeff Jacob presided. Graveside services were held at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Herndon, Virginia on the same day.
