Randy was a good friend and I always went to his shop for a haircut for all the time he was in business. He was a genuine good person. Lake Anne lost a great man. A big loss for me I was going to call him today but found his obituary.

I considered Randy as not just my barber (for over two decades), but my friend. We played tennis and camped in our camper vans a few times He sure loved his van and must have replaced nearly every part over the years - mostly by himself. He was such a gregarious and happy guy. It seemed like nothing could keep him down, even losing his hair near the end. He is and will be sorely missed.

Randy was a very kind and caring man, and was a good friend to my father, Jerry Snyder. Randy cut his hair down at Lake Anne for decades and when my father was bedridden for the the last year of his life, Randy so kindly came to our house to cut his hair. Randy’s visits always greatly cheered my father up and I will always rember him for this.

Randy made getting a haircut something special and enjoyable. For many years we talked about everything under the sun - always fun. Randy will be missed - he was one of those people that brought happiness to all who met him.

Randy first cut my hair in 1991. He quickly went from being my barber to being my friend. Over the years, we talked about kids, politics, the weather, westerns, life and just about any topic under the sun. My two daughters were often in the shop. When they were young, the played on the floor with towels. Later they played in the empty barber chairs. After college, they went to the shop with me, often requesting strange cuts, Randy always agreed. When my wife went through chemotherapy, Randy shave her head, she said how kid he was to her at a bad time. The last time I say him in January, he still asked how she was doing. The past months were difficult, but Randy always kept a positive attitude. I am sad that he is gone. I am happy however, that he is in a better place. I know he is sitting on a chair in a sunny plaza, talking to everyone who walks by his shop. Rest in peace my friend.

Rest in peace Randy. You are sorrily missed on my visits to the barber shop and passing by on walk-about around the Lakes of Ann and Newport this week. Memories of our discussions of your cars, tennis and likes and dislikes will be remembered for a long time.
