Obituary of Donald Francis Moen, Jr.

Donald F. Moen, Jr. (age 76) of Great Falls, VA, was taken from us on February 21, 2019. Don was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 13, 1943.  He attended grade school at St. Gerard’s and high school at Don Bosco.  The family moved to Queens, NY in 1956 and then to Washington, DC in 1957 where he attended high School.  The family moved to Dallas, TX in 1959 where he finished High School and graduated from Dallas Jesuit.  He attended college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI and graduated in 1964 with a degree in Mathematics.  He enrolled in the Air Foce OTC in 1964 and was stationed at Lackland and Randopph Air bases in San Antonio for 2 ½ years before being transferred to Elgin Air Base in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.  In 1968 he left the Air Force as a Captain.  He moved to Washington, DC to start work at TRW where he worked for 35 years.  In 1968, he met Lyn Johnson.They soon became engaged and were married in September 1969.  They have been married for 50 years. Don enjoyed golf, gardening, reading, wine collecting and traveling.  He was also a Life Master in Bridge. In addition to his wife Lyn Don is survived by brothers Richard, Robert (Sydney) and Thomas (Shelly Webb) as well as numerous other relatives and friends. 

Family will receive guests Monday, February 25 from 5-8pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 26 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1020 Springvale Road, Great Falls, VA.
