Bill was just an awesome person. I met him at the Brambleton golf course and was a regular golfing buddy for some years. I was so blessed to spend time with him! I'll miss those rounds of golf with Bill. My prayers are with Bill's family.

I will always remember Bill for welcoming me to play golf with his group when I first moved to Virginia and knew no one. I will miss his voice at dawn when arriving to the golf course when bellowing out a sarcastic comment that carried through the quiet still air of a summer morning. I will always remember him and the great conversations on the golf course. I will think of him every time I tee it up. You will be missed Bill and Rest In Peace. Fairways and greens!!!!

I have known Bill since 1992 when I start working with him at DC Water.
Last few years I had the opportunity to share with Bill my experience to be for few years on kidney dialysis and he was really full of optimism and I can see that all health problem he get lately did not turn him down. He was always full of optimism and hope.
My deepest sympathies go out to Mrs. Jones and family. Bill will be greatly missed.
With sincere sympathy,
Gregory.

I remember when I met Bill for the first time. Driving up our street, I spotted Jim in his front yard swinging a golf club (there's a surprise) hitting plastic golf balls. I pulled over and introduced myself and we began a 30 year friendship. Bill's love for the game was infectious and so much fun. Why else would we tee off at 5:00 a.m. in the Summer or play through an entire Winter with frozen greens! We shared multiple trips to Myrtle Beach and too many tournaments, with Bill anchoring our teams, that will leave us all with found memories.
To Nancy, Bonnie and Marcie, my deepest condolences. Bill loved you all very much and he will be greatly missed

I was so sorry to hear of Mr.William "Bill" Jones death, and wish to express my most sincere sympathies to the bereaved Mrs.Nancy Jones, and the family during these difficult times. Bill who was always a people person, was instrumental in tempering my voice during his sojourn at Dc Water, he was also congruous in his vocational outreach, allowing others through his quiet demeanor to surge, always unnoticed, because that is the nature of William.
Bill revealing mastery of his work was bold, and evident from the refrain offered to those who seek his assistance, "A Piece Of Cake".
Bill as you take your cosmic journey, may the enduring phrase "Rest in Peace" be with you..

I have known Bill since the 1990a, when I came to work for DC Water. I was managing the CSO Long Term Control Plan, and Bill was my money man. Contracts, Change Orders, POs were many, and Bill was the many who kept me grounded and in order. He would come back from budget meetings and tell me: "youngster, they are laughing their heads off over these projections you are making about the cost of CSO control - billions of dollars?" Guess who is laughing now.. We talked about our kids, wives. He tried to get me to play golf, I tried to get him to play tennis. During our phase 2 - after-retirement working at DC Water, our cubicles are next to each other. I would hear him talk to his wife Nancy - the speaker was always on - what a loving couple they were - I could tell overhearing their conversation. I knew about all his health problems, and he was looking down. Still it is a shock. My sincerest condolences for the family.

Dear Mrs. Jones/ family
I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Bill’s death and i want to express my most sincere sympathies to you and the family during this difficult time.
The day he passed away early in the morning around 6:35 AM I met him in the office and we chat for a while. We always chat about watches ( he used to wear TAG watch ) and cars with me. I am early bird in the office so whenever he see me and show me 2- fingers and say 2T’s ( Tuesday/ Thursday).
Please accept my sincere condolences for you and the family. Mr. Bill was a remarkable man and everyone at DCWATER is better for having known him. For those of us that had the privilege of calling him "friend" outside of work, we were humbled by his kindness and compassion to everyone around him.
He will be greatly missed and everyone here is saddened by his death. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family and friends during this difficult time.
With sincere sympathy,
Tahir

I also met Bill at the golf course (where else would you meet him). I started arriving early at the Herndon Golf Course (it was still dark) and I would run into Bill, Dan, and Joe driving out the golf carts from the "barn" to get ready for the day. At that time they got to play for free (I think) because they were helping. I somehow joined into the "Herndon 500" and started playing with the "gang". Sometimes there were more than 4 of us so we had to throw golf balls up in the air to see who would play together. I remember thinking "I hope I get to play with Bill" because he was so much fun.......even tho he tended to "bend the rules" a little. Of course it was a standing joke among us that Bill always made the 6 foot "gimmies". I ended up playing with the same group of wonderful guys for over 10 years (and you know who you are). Even after moving to North Carolina Bill would come down and we would play as a two some. What a wonderful guy and the most "colorful" golfer/friend I have ever known. I just hope they don't make him putt those "gimmies".

I first met Bill Jones around 1998. On Saturday mornings, he and I would arrive early at Brambleton golf course to walk on without a reservation. Bill would arrive after I had parked at the front gate and then his typical competitive nature he would ask, “how long have you been here?”. I would reply “oh I got here about five minutes ago”. The following Saturday, he would arrive 10 minutes earlier that he had the previous Saturday in his effort to be first. But he would find me parked there and he would ask the same question, about how long I have been there and I would give him the same reply. This went on for quite a while until he realized that I was arriving much earlier that I told him. It really didn’t make any difference, but that’s how we came to meet and start playing golf together, and I thought the story to be illustrative the of Bill. He is and will remain dearly missed.
