John and I were best friends who had many great times traveling together to a number of countries in Asia. I last talked to him in December 2018 around the holidays, but had not been in touch since then. I was shocked today (May 29, 2019) to discover he had passed away. John really was a people person and I am sure he is looking down with a smile since he is back again with his wife and son. I will miss him.

My deepest condolences to the entire Hollinger Family on John’s recent passing. I wish I had known at the time so I could have paid my respects to the boys and their families. John and Kathy were long-time neighbors and our youngest children remain good friends. With all the loss over the past years, Armada Street will never be the same and that makes me sad. On a more positive note, John is now at peace in heaven with his beloved wife, Kathy.

As hard as this death may be for my family and I please keep in mind of 2 things. 1 is that I know he is finally at rest with mom and it truly is a celebration. Second is please give to the pantry at reston bible church if you are able. The pantry was his mission after he retired.
