My parents and I lived next to Wilbur And Mary in their first house on Seneca Road. Wilbur is my mothers youngest brother. I spent lots of time with them and my cousins. I didnt get to see them too often after they moved to Mt Jackson. Prayers and healing thoughts to Wilbur Lee and Lucille; Denise, Donna and Jim, Berkeley and Laura and all family members. May the peace of the Lord be with you.

Wilbur was always a welcoming presence at family events, and extended true hospitality. It was a joy to see him; be around and learn from him. I recall the story of his reclaiming of a burnt tractor from his neighbor’s shed. The thing was totally fried, no tires, engine tubes, etc.. He somehow got the tractor home and rebuilt it, painted it like new. This sense of reclaiming things lost, and making good use of what one had, always impressed me. I admire his attitude that he could do anything (even better than those who were paid for the job;). He is an encouragement on so many levels, and he will be missed.

I only wish we’d spent more time with Wilbur (and Mary both). We had the privilege of being their neighbors for many years before Wilbur moved to Berryville. Aaron & I will treasure his friendship and the memories he left both us and our two children. Juliana and Elias love talking about sharing a soda and cookie with them on occasion. I know Aaron misses their friendly “mowing wars” and drink in the yard after. We send our prayers and thoughts to the family.

This wonderful man could do no wrong. He always greeted everyone with the warmest hug. He was family to us and we knew he would of done anything for us. My family loved him like a grandpa. He knew how to fix about anything. I will surely miss him at our next gathering but I know he would want us to celebrate his wonderful life. Rest In Peace❤️
