Obituary of Linda Ann Harman

Linda Ann Harman, age 71, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Reston Hospital and was able to rejoin her father and brother in heaven.  Much of her loving family was close at hand.  She was born on December 28, 1947 to Emilio and Esther Piconi in Welch, WV. Linda was a graduate of Northfork-Elkhorn High School and also attended Little French Beauty Academy.  She was married to William Harman in September 1968. Linda created a loving home for her family in Northern Virginia and was a cherished member of the Sterling Virginia community for over 50 years.  Linda gave countless hours to the Lower Loudoun Boys Football League as a respected coach of the Sterling Rams youth cheerleading program making a lasting impression on numerous cheerleaders and their families.  Linda was an avid collector receiving immense joy in displaying her bear and caroler collections.  She was an intense sports fan with her favorite teams being the Duke University Men’s Basketball team and the Washington Redskins. Linda was also a substitute teacher in Loudoun County and was well known by the students and school administrators.

 

Linda is survived by her husband, William Harman, her five children and their spouses, Beth Harman and Matthew Roach, Maria and Dave Allen, Micheal Harman and Jenn Jordan, Melissa and Ben Mottinger and Melanie and Cary Vipond, her grandchildren, Ashley Allen, Daulton Roach, Logan Roach, Emma Rhodes, Meghan Farrell, Kellen Vipond, Summit Mottinger, Keenan Mottinger, Aspen Mottinger, Landon Vipond and Tatum Vipond, her mother, Esther Piconi, her sister and spouse, Angie and Tom Stephenson, her nieces and nephews, Tammie Rhodes, Veronica Cull and Robert Stephenson.

 

We would love to invite all those who loved Linda to her Celebration of Life Service this Friday, June 14, 2019 at Bill Allen Field at 333 S. Sterling Boulevard, Sterling, VA 20164.  The family will receive guests from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with a memorial service from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.  A reception will follow the service at Bungalow Lakehouse at 46116 Lake Center Plaza, Sterling, VA 20165 from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

 

Please honor Linda’s love of sports by wearing team gear or clothing with colors from your favorite sports team.
