The loss of Jerry is very sad. He was such a roll model growing up and taught me so many things about life and of course about working on a home. I bet you don't have to be told this but he also taught me so many things about cars. One of my earliest childhood memories of working on a "vehicle" with him was sanding (for paint) his "I Am 4WD" dune buggy in preparation for one of the many car shows he won trophies for his work. The photo of it stills hangs in my garage today. A man of many skills, a tough exterior, but a very caring man who would give the shirt off his back to help out a friend and basically most people who just asked. If he was here today I'd jokingly blame him for getting me in to the home inspection business, lol. I have so much to thank him for, I know one of last emails we exchanged I did thank him for the mechanical skills he taught me about cars. He's one of the many I think about daily.

My sympathy to Jerry's family. He was such a helpful and quiet fellow. Of those of us from his Herndon High School class who served in the Armed Forces following high school, he was the very first to do so. He'll always be special to me.
