Obituary of Joanne E Kunz

 Joanne E. Kunz a resident of Ashby Ponds and a former long-time resident of Sterling Park, Virginia passed away Tuesday August 20, 2019,

            She was born July 31, 1941 to Walter and Elizabeth Kunz in Fredericksburg, Virginia.                               .

           

            Joanne graduated from Dennison University in Ohio with a Political Science Degree. She was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.  She also received a Masters in Guidance and Counseling, and was a guidance counselor at Sterling Middle School until her retirement in 1996. She was an educator in Loudoun County Public Schools for 28 years. 

           

            Joanne loved reading, bridge and the theater. She also loved travelling, and travelled extensively as well throughout her lifetime.

            She remained very active in her sorority, book clubs and retired teachers.

           

            She is survived by her dear friends Annette and Jack Ludlam, their sons Kevin and Peter and daughter in law Laura.  As well as, Pam and Loyd Hutchison, son Jeffrey, daughter Kristen and son in law Will.  They spent many happy holidays together.

            Joanne also has several cousins and an array of close friends.

           

            A funeral Mass will be held Tuesday August 27th at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Herndon, VA . Interment will take place at 1 pm on Wednesday August 28th at St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, Pennsylvania.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can sent to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 750 Peachtree Street, Herndon, Virginia 20170, The American Cancer Society or NAMI (National   Association for the Mentally ill)            .
