Obituary of Elisa Margarita Cardona Oliva

Elisa passed away on Tuesday, September 10th at Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, Virginia.

She was born on May 12, 1973 in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. She studied electric engineering at the University of Puerto Rico, Recinto de Mayaguez. After graduating, Elisa moved to Maryland to work for RJO where few of her best friends from Puerto Rico joined her. Afterwards, she moved to Fairfax, Virginia to work for Raytheon, for 20 years and until her death.

Elisa was preceded in death by her mother Rosa M. Oliva Ballester (d. 1990) and father

Miguel A. Cardona Márquez (d. 2019). She is survived by her dearest and only brother, Miguel Antonio (Papote), as well as aunts, uncles, many cousins (first, second, and third) and numerous friends living in Puerto Rico and United States.

Elisa’s greatest passions were her family, faith, friends, including her two godsons, music (especially Celtic), singing, and playing pool. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. She is missed deeply by all who knew and loved her. However, she will live in our joy and good works.

A viewing and memorial service will be taking place on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 from 5:00-8:00 PM (Eulogy at 7:00 PM) at Adam-Green Funeral Home, located at 721 Elden St., Herndon, VA. On Wednesday, a short viewing and mass will be held Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 from 10:30 AM-12:00 noon at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Fairfax, VA.
