Obituary of Denise Vecere Beach
Denise Vecere Beach died unexpectedly on October 19, 2019 in Reston, Virginia at the age of 62. Denise is survived by her parents, Minnie and Robert Vecere Sr. of Pennington, New Jersey; children, Devon Beach of Reston, Virginia and Meredith Beach of Cherry Hill, New Jersey; siblings, Robert Vecere II and Linda Vecere of Pennington, New Jersey, and Renee and Tom Sudol of Yardley, Pennsylvania. She also had many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Denise was born on June 11, 1957 in Trenton, New Jersey. She graduated from Hopewell Valley Central High School in 1975 and George Washington University in 1981 with a degree in Business Administration, and a concentration in Management. She went on to further her education, earning a Masters degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Finance and Investments from George Washington University in 1985. After graduating college,Denise decided to stay in Washington, D.C. and began a career in government contracting as a Project Manager, working for the US House of Representatives, Lockheed Martin, Economic Systems, Inc., and most recently employed by Buchanan & Edwards. Between 2005 and 2006, she also earned 30 credits towards a Masters of Science in Project Management from Boston University.
In 1991, Denise started her family with the birth of her first daughter Devon Michele while continuing to work full time. She welcomed a second daughter, Meredith Morgan, two and a half years later in 1994. Her children remember her as a kind, gentle, supportive, patient, and adventurous woman who encouraged them to pursue their goals and passions. She also inspired many as a Breast Cancer Survivor of over a decade.
Denise enjoyed hiking and yoga while always making time for her family and friends. Her true passion was traveling, with her most notable trip being to Africa in the summer of 2019. She was a generous, witty, and dedicated individual who loved life and who was passionate about social justice and human rights advocacy. She was an active and dedicated member of the Floris United Methodist Church and their Racial Reconciliation group, and volunteered at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
A funeral is scheduled for 10: 00 a.m. on Saturday October 26, 2019 at Floris United Methodist Church In Herndon, Virginia with a reception to follow, and visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the family residence.
