We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Claudia, John, and Julie on the passing of Anthony.
We were privileged to have Tony teach and coach our children when they were young. A parent could not ask for a better role model and educator for their children, especially in their formidable years.
As a neighbor, Tony was always happy and cheerful. We will forever remember his kind heart, patience, engaging smile, and positive outlook on life.
May it comfort you to know your husband and father left a legacy of love that will always be remembered by the many people he touched.
God Bless you, Tony, and may He grant you eternal peace.
Love, Joe & Betty Alfano

This is heartbreaking news as I have so many fond memories of Mr. DeGregorio as my PE teacher and neighbor. He was an amazing educator who instilled health, fitness and personal well-being into me at a young age and I’ll be forever grateful for that. He was a great teacher and an even better man. My condolences go out to the DeGregorio family.
Kindest regards,
Anthony

Dear DeGregorio family
We feel so blessed to have known Tony and considered him more than a colleague but a friend. He never passed my office without stopping to say hello and ask how I was doing, always the gentleman.
We were shocked and saddened to learn of his passing and are thinking of you during this difficult time.

Dear Claudia: Brenda and I were heart broken to hear about Tony's passing. Please know that we are thinking of you and the kids at this extraordinarily difficult and stressful time. Tony was a special man, a thoughtful, passionate, and dedicated professional who positively touched the lives of many people in an assortment of different ways. The success of the health and physical education program at George Mason was in no small measure partly a result of Tony's steadfast devotion to the field and insistence that everyone be taught the importance of health, human movement and physical activity. We feel fortunate to have known him, appreciative that we could call him our friend, and thankful that for many years he was our colleague.
Love, Dave and Brenda Wiggins

I am honored to know this wonderful man!! I am grateful through him, I met you, Claudia, as well! Mr. D always spoke about his children so I feel as if I know this whole family well. This is such a difficult situation to endure but I can see Mr. D now mentoring me and pushing me through this sadness. That's what he did and who he is--always exposing the best in his students and encouraging them to shine in all situations, in and out of the classroom, still. My thoughts and prayers have been with your family since I heard the news and you all will continue to be. I am so sorry for your loss. I am thankful you all shared him with me and with all of us. I will celebrate his life and what he taught me every single day. Lots of love.

I am so very saddened by the loss of this kind, giving, passionate, and caring man. I worked with Tony for many years in FCPS as a colleague in many capacities. I also joined him in teaching at GMU for a few semesters. Tony’s passion for teaching was palpable and his enthusiasm was contagious. He gave so freely of himself to his students and fellow teachers. He made a great impact in my career as a teacher and is leaving quite a legacy behind with all of those whom he touched. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, who he spoke of often with such love in his eyes. I will miss you, dear friend. May you Rest In Peace, Tony....it’s time for the good stuff.
