Obituary of Anthony Joseph DeGregorio

On Friday, November 29, 2019 Anthony “Tony” DeGregorio, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 66 after a short illness.

Tony was born in Endicott, NY to John and Frances (Stirpe) DeGregorio. He received a bachelors degree from Niagara University and both his bachelors and masters degrees in Health and Physical Education from George Mason University. He was a devoted educator and administrator for Fairfax County Public Schools for 26 years and also an educator and mentor at George Mason University for over 30 years. Tony’s life passion was teaching and creating future health and physical educators. His legacy will live on through the many teachers he supported and mentored. 

He was married to his high school sweetheart, Claudia (Battisti) DeGregorio for 44 years and they raised two children, John (Hillary) and Julie (Charles Ohrnberger).

The celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Floris United Methodist Church, 13600 Frying Pan Rd. Herndon, Virginia, 20171.
