Obituary of Wallace William Farrar, Jr.

Wallace William Farrar, Jr. 98 died peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Spring Arbor of Winchester. Wallace was born December 5, 1921 to the late Wallace and Arlene Farrar in Palmyra, VA.  He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II.  After the service he worked for the State Highway Department for 40 years.  He was the Superintendent of Highways in Fairfax and Loudoun County for the majority of his career.   Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Kathryn Farrar.  He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Russell (John Russell); Grandchildren: John Russell, III (Cindy Russell) and their two children, Emma and Noah; Charles Russell (Nyssa Russell); and Elizabeth Russell.Father of Melinda (John) Russell grandchildren: John Russell, III (Cindy Russell) and their two children, Emma and Noah; Charles Russell (Nyssa Russell); and Elizabeth Russell;  Son, Bill Farrar; Grandchildren: Kim Jacobs (Craig Jacobs) and their children Curtis, Evan, and Allison; Jason White(Heather White)their child, Summer. Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 6 to 8 pm at Adams-Green Funeral Home.   A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 1 pm at Sterling United Methodist Church. Interment Chestnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice  333 W. Cork St. #405 Winchester, VA 22601 or to Sterling United Methodist Church/ Tree of Life.
