Obituary of Bette Jayne Haney

Bette Jayne Haney, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, retired secretary at Fox Mill Elementary School, resident of Herndon, Virginia, went to be with her late husband, John Edward Haney and the Lord on April 17th, 2020 at the age of 79.

 

Bette Jayne is survived by her children: John Aaron Haney, Sr., daughter-in-law, Charmaine Haney, Eric Haney, grandchildren: Sarah Hosford, Benjamin Ratner, John Aaron Haney, Jr., Orion Haney, great-grandchildren: Bria Hosford, Adelyn Hosford, Lilly Ratner, Isabelle Ratner, and Simon Ratner, along with her many friends and extended family who loved her dearly.

 

Bette Jayne was born on January 6th, 1941 in New Castle, Pennsylvania to the late Archie and Lena Hixson. Bette Jayne (Hixson) Haney married John Edward Haney in Winchester, Virginia on August 8th, 1963. She was a Christian member of Chantilly Bible Church and enjoyed studying the Word of God in bible studies with her friends. She loved to travel the world and was very skilled  with arts and crafts. Many years of volunteer work included time spent with the elderly at local nursing homes coordinating art and craft classes as well as Weight Watchers. She was full of life, enjoyed people and loved any chance to be social. Her favorite time spent was with her family.

 

Arrangements for a celebration of life will be held at a later date, organized by Bette Jayne’s immediate family. She will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, Pennsylvania.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her honor to Chantilly Bible Church, 4390 Pleasant Valley Rd., Chantilly, Virginia 20151, Attn: Administration. Checks can be made out to Chantilly Bible Church/Bette Jayne Memorial.
