I knew Hugh from our work at ANPA in Reston but more recently, when he was recruited by my husband, Dick Shingleton, for the VFW Post 1177 Honor Guard. We also enjoyed his company on several senior trips, this one to the Black Hills, S.D. in 2015. He was a quiet gentleman. So sorry for your loss.

I loved this Uncle ,he made me laugh when he always wore shorts even in the winter, it was a joy to visit this man and my Aunt. I always had a great time and now he goes to see his beloved person , they had a true love together. My aunt always said he loved Debra so much, reunited again. All three together , blessings to all the family.

I have had the pleasure and honor to know Hugh, my VFW and Cootie brother. I have fond memories of conversing about many things whether at a VFW meeting or standing by when performing honor guard duties. May Hugh rest peacefully, and his family, as well as all who got to know him, be comforted by remembering his great life. Miss you, Hugh!
