Donald R. Bauer, Jr, 59, of Brambleton, Va peacefully passed away at his home with his family by his side on Monday 20 July 2020.  He is survived by his beloved wife Stacie, and beautiful 10 year old twin daughters, Addison (Addie) and Victoria (Torrie), who were his pride and joy.  In addition to his wife and daughters, he is survived by sisters Shelley (Wayne) VanderKolk, Janice (Darin) Showerman, brother Douglas Bauer and nephews Chad, Ivan and Eli.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother Jon.

 

Don dedicated over 30 years of his career, passion and life to Reston Hospital Center, where he most recently served as the Assistant Director of Radiology.  Don supported the Imaging Department with his leadership for many years; and his commitment to the patients, imaging staff and Reston hospital was unwavering.  He has touched so many lives throughout his career with his kind approach, warm smile and willingness to lend a helping hand. He will truly be missed by many.  

 

Don enjoyed helping coach his daughters softball teams, serving as a communion assistant at Our Saviors Way Lutheran Church (OSWLC), watching Michigan football and spending time with family and friends. The family has requested donations in Don's honor to be made to Amos Comfort Dog via  OSWLC Comfort Dog Ministries (Amos), 43115 Waxpool Road, Broadlands, VA 20148, or to a charity of your choice. 

 

A private service was held on 23 July 2020 at Adams Green Funeral Home. A public celebration of Don’s life will be held at Our Saviors Way Lutheran Church located at 43115 Waxpool Road, Broadlands, VA, 20148 at 10am on 1 October 2020.
