I will never forget Uncle Al and my Father (Frank) bravely agreeing to take 4 young girls camping! Leave it to two Italian dads to think it would be a good idea to make Pasta fagioli on a camping trip. So they get a fire going; put a 20 qt pot on to boil! What were they thinking??? Then the heavens open up with a torrential downpour! Bedtime, no problem. Tent's up. Uncle Al braves the elements in the tent. Frank takes the front seat of the truck while the girls take the back camper part. All of a sudden Uncle Al runs out of the tent screaming, RACCOON!!! To top it all off Frank was snoring so loudly and gruffly that Toni thought it was a bear!!!
The whole experience merited a replay by Carol Burnett and Tim Conway.
Also unforgettable was cuttin a rug with uncle Al. He and my father were the best dancers ever!!! I can see you and Frank jammin now!!!

Oh Cousin Anita! Memories of childhood that are so imprinted you couldn't forget if you wanted to! What a time we had. Your Dad Uncle Frank with a tarp over his head, over the huge pot that refused to boil and my dad, Al, checking " is it boiling yet"?? No hot dogs for these Italian kids - noooo. Had to be pasta. If I remember - they finally poured the box of noodles on luke warm water and it sat for HOURS until it was soft enough to eat. Al dente indeed! Thanks Cuz for bringing that memory back

I met Bitz when we both were students at Paul Junior High School in the Brightwood neighborhood of Washington D.C. He was a very friendly guy and respected for his always seemingly high degree of self-driving force, as well as being a super nice guy.
I lost contact with him when we graduated; he going to Roosevelt High School, I believe. But above all, his nick name has remained clearly in my mind, lo many years have passed. I went to Calvin Coolidge High School.
May the fun guy named Bitz always be among the most cherished memories of his family. For it certainly will remain within the best of my boy hood memories.
