Obituary – James Vernon LeFave

 

 

James ‘Jim’ V. LeFave, 72, of Herndon, Virginia passed away peacefully with loved ones.

 

Jim grew up in Philadelphia and attended Central High School graduating in 1965.  He later joined the Air Force and served as a Communications Chief in various assignments, both stateside and overseas including support operations in the Viet Nam conflict.  He retired from active duty in 1986.  Jim married Carol Marcey, of Falls Church in 1969.   Together they raised two children. The family enjoyed traveling, both abroad and stateside.  He volunteered at the USO, as well as the Air and Space Museum for several years.

 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.  Survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol along with his two children, Kim who resides in Riverview, Florida with her husband and son, and James who resides in Antioch, Tennessee.  Additionally, his sister, Marie and husband, Tom Heim and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren of Philadelphia and sister-in-law, Sally and husband, Mel Howard and their children and grandchildren of Ashburn, Virginia.

 

Services will be held at the Adams Green Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery at a later date.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
