Dear Ratna and Murthy family, just got the news. Please accept our condolences. Knew Dr Murthy from 1984 when we came to Richmond. Had many common friends including some in India (Dr Shyam Sundar, Murthy’s class mate was my senior in Nimhans, Bangalore). Also shared some patients. Remember him as always gentle with a smile. Patients always spoke to me of his gentle East going nature.
Rama and I are keeping the family on our prayers. May his soul Rest In Peace.

We are sad to hear about Dr. Murthy's passing away. We knew him and socialized with his family in Richmond VA, He was kind and open in communicating with us and our children who are friends with his daughters. We will miss him. Our prayers for his peaceful soul.

Dear Rathna, Veena, Pramila, Priya and family
Our memories of Dr. G. S. Murthy date back 35 yrs ago, when I first met him in his office next to Church’s chicken fast food on Sycamore St. I had just arrived new in town. Subsequently, our medical offices were adjacent and I remember the countless hours we would talk about the medical office practices etc especially during our “lunch breaks”. He was the “Doc’ for both of our children, a very good friend, mentor, and a very kind person. He was always smiling, welcoming and patient with every one of his patients and had an outstanding reputation as a caring, kind and very knowledgeable physician. He and you Rathna have always been such gracious hosts. We will miss him dearly. May his attain Sadgathi.
