Obituary of Dr. G.S. Murthy

Dr. G.S. Murthy of Chester, Virginia, beloved doctor, husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on October 5^th, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

An accomplished physician, he graduated from Mysore Medical College in India and came to the United States for his medical training. He went on to further his specialty training in pediatric cardiology in London, England. He established his life and practice in the greater Richmond, Virginia area with his wife and children.

His exceptional career as a pediatrician spanned many fulfilling and rewarding years. His tireless nature and love for his specialty led him to become head of the Pediatrics Department at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. There, he was known for his hard work and dedication to his patients. He was recognized as an outstanding clinician and loved dearly by all of his patients.

He was a mentor to many and was praised for his wisdom and caring guidance. He has touched so many lives and his presence will be dearly missed by his family and friends.  His lasting legacy shall live on through his loving family.
