My heartfelt condolences to Ann and Connor. He would always speak so highly of you. I’ve known Tom since our days at the USBM and I will miss him greatly as a friend and colleague. He had such a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. I always enjoyed his one quick stories. The office just won’t be the same without him.

Tom was one of a kind. He had the best sense of humor and was passionate about all of his interests. He introduced me to hockey and we watched hundreds of Caps games together, always a good time regardless of how the game turned out. We shared a love for music and spent countless hours listening to all kinds of things, always looking for something new and exciting. Tom was much more than a best friend, he was a brother to me and those in his inner circle. I'm thankful to have known Tom and to have had a close friendship with him. Gonna miss you, brother!

I worked with Tom both at the U.S. Bureau of Mines and at the USGS, Tom was a competent and reliable colleague. I valued his friendship and advice. He had a quick wit and a dry sense of humor. Fond memories. My deepest sympathy to Anne and Connor.

My heart aches over the sudden passing of our friend Tom. He was one of Bob’s longest and dearest friends . They met while working at Defense Mapping Agency. He was like a brother to Bob. I fondly remember his sense of humor, always so funny. Great story teller. You all are like family to us and we hold you close to our hearts with love and prayer. This is a picture of Tom at our wedding (not the best) but its from 1983,

Dear Anne and Connor - My sincere condolences for your loss. Tom and I became friends when he joined me on a field tour of diatomite deposits in the early 2000's after which we coauthored a couple of papers. We enjoyed the outing and stayed in touch over the years swapping stories of of life, family activities, especially with Connor, friends, and his Washington football team. He was a respected colleague and friend whom I will also miss. May your fond memories of Tom provide comfort to you both.
With best regards, , , Phil Moyle (Retired US Geological Survey; Spokane, Washington)
