Dave and I met John at the Pelican Preserve swimming pool when he lived here with his family. We were his pool helpers, and he was our historian. What a remarkable person he was. He lived a great life and often told us stories about his wife and family. We took him to lunch one day, and our waiter got tears in his eyes when he saw the infamous hat which John often wore recognizing his military past. He was one of a kind! Our sincere condolences to his family.
