He was a great part of my fantastic experience in the US and Baltimore.

Mark, Nancy, Krista and Laura,
Please know how saddened we are to hear of Andrew's passing. I hope you all may find some peace during this time.
We have fond memories of many Army/Navy games with you two. Sometimes the kids were able to join us or you had to rush back to them after the game. My favorite memory is the gazpacho and chardonnay tailgate and of course, a Navy win!
Such a young soul has passed on. He obviously made an impact in many lives and was such a vibrant young man. You must be so proud of the mark he left on this world.
Love,
Anita and Paul Harwig

I worked with Andrew in the Office of New Reactors and he traveled with us to ASME Code meetings throughout the country. After the meetings and during dinner, we would often talk about the Nationals (I am a Yankee fan) and Yanks meeting in the World Series. I hope and pray that he is no longer in pain and that he is now in peace. I also hope Andrew's family can find some comfort that he is no longer in pain and that he is in good hands.

I had the privilege to work with Andrew at the NRC on some technical working groups. He was always focused, in the present, bright, thoughtful, kind, and supportive; I had suspected no health problems. I was shocked and saddened by this news and then to learn about his valiant battle with the underlying disease. My heart and prayers go to his family.

To my dear sister, Nancy, Mark, Krista, and Laura,
With a heavy heart, I send my sympathy, love and support to you. May the grace of God get you through this and the love of family and friends support you.
My favorite memory was when Andrew drove me back to the airport from Uncle Jim's house, he was in his mid 20's. We spent over an hour in traffic together, I cherish this precious gift. We talked about holidays at Gram's, growing up with sisters, his career goals and family. We smiled, we laughed and he gave me the biggest hug when I left. I left that conversation feeling so content.
y heartache and love to all of you, I am sending all my love and support.

Andrew was part of the first R&D team at Transnuclear. Here he is in photos with us from Oct 2013, shortly before he left for the NRC. After he left, Andrew would meet with a few of us for beers in Rockville on a weekend afternoon. Our last meeting was this past August. When I invited him, he replied only that he was in the high risk category for covid-19, so he could not join us. We suspected nothing more, so we are shocked and greatly saddened by this news.

Andrew's father Mark has been my mentor/manager since 2003. When Andrew completed his degree from Virginia Tech, he worked with us and I had the pleasure to work alongside him as he assisted us in developing new capabilities. Once you got to know him, you just knew that he was a genuine, smart, and likeable guy. Knowing Mark, Nancy and even his sister Krista, you also knew that they had a wonderful, close-knit family. Having worked with Mark for so long we would often times talk about our respective families and how our children were passing life's many milestones. It truly saddens me to think that Andrew’s life was taken early by a terrible disease. It’s nothing one ever considers so please accept our condolences at your monumental loss. Take peace that Andrew touched so many and that your memories of him are so great. Seeing the pictures of him brings a tear to my eye. Mark & Nancy, we are deeply sorry for your loss.
