I only knew Dale as “Fletch.” He was a friend of a mutual friend so I went to a few concerts and air shows with him. He knew more about airplanes than anyone. And he was always the funniest guy in the room—without even trying. He will be missed.

So many memories from long ago with Dale, Danno, Dale's brother Doug and other assorted characters working at McDonalds, playing softball, and socializing all over Northern Virginia. Rest in peace Dale!

We used to clear dead trees in Ashburn, VA for pay during the weekends. This was a time in the early 90s with L2R me, Dale, Wes (my bro-in-law), and my Dad, Dan Proko Sr. It was right off the main drag through Ashburn Farms. Fun times!

The barber shop mentioned in the Beatles' Penny Lane was just up the road from this location. The barber had no business when we went there....neither of us needed a haircut so we passed. DOH! Hindsight...it would've capped the day well.
