Julie Teyze's house was one of my favourite to go to when I was a child. She would listen to every story I was reading (did not know how to read at the time )with interest and with a smile. Our bond continued even though they left Turkey to live in the USA.They were great friends to our family. Julie Teyze always remembered my special days, she would send gifts like a bag for my high school rgraduation that I've used and cherished a lot. Another time she spent hours with me in Ankara shopping for my daughters upcoming birth and gave a special gift that we still use today. She was so special to me and have a very special place in my heart. And it breaks my heart that she is gone, I am just so thankful I got to know such a great soul. I know that both mom and dad wanted to see both Julie Teyze and Ramazan amca one last time but was not possible due to their health reasons. Now they can meet up in heaven.. Ramazan amca we are very sorry for your loss and sending our deepest sympathies to you and the family at this time of deep sorrow.

Alton and I have fond memories of a recent trip Julie made to the Detroit area. Since it had been several years since she had visited the city of Detroit, we took her on a sight seeing trip which included a drive by her childhood home. We also visited the Motown Museum, the downtown area, Belle Isle and other places. However the highlight of the trip was a visit to Bert's Marketplace Diner in the Eastern Market area for a meal of delicious barbeque ribs! Alton often joked with Julie that he had never seen a plate so clean. Julie would often recall that meal with a twinkle in her eye and talk about how much she enjoyed that meal.
We love you Julie and will always remember the good times we shared.
