Joey was truly an amazing person. I had the pleasure of working with him at Choice Hotels in Phoenix for several years. One of my fond memories was when in was back in Phoenix on business and we ran into each other at Scottsdale Fashion Square and had a coffee and caught up on life. That hair, his smile was one in a million. Will miss you greatly.

Joey was just the best! I will forever consider him one of my most memorable mentors. He was always available for a pep talk, a quip of wisdom and a story to share that would help to navigate through the highs and lows of work and life. I will miss his infectious laughter, his jokes and ending meetings with "ok, world peace next" :) I feel very lucky to have known him.

Joey was a special colleague and an even better friend. His office at Choice was truly a place of therapy for so many who trusted Joey and welcomed his guidance and perspective. I was privileged to call Joey my friend and instantly recalled so many memories - serious and fun - that had him at the heart of each moment. He was a loving, compassionate man who spoke from the heart and encouraged each of us to do the same. Thank you Joey for being there for me so many times - I'll never forget your kindness, counsel and friendship.

Joey was such a special person and a truly beautiful soul. His presence had an impact on so many people- he was selfless, giving and generous. He really loved to make others happy as that made him happy. His light will be remembered by us all and has not left but stays with us after death. Our true gift was to know him and to have experienced his light. He always talked about how much he loved Kathy and Luke. He was an extraordinary person and we are all better off from knowing him, and seeing his example in the world. I know I learned from him how to be more gracious and more giving. He will be incredibly missed.

I am so happy I was able to work with Joey. I didn't know him too much on a personal level, however, I know he was always so positive and pushed for the best and overall helped us better ourselves and grow. He cared. Dear Kathy, Luke, and Joey's beloved family: I am so very sorry for the loss of Joey. I found Joey to be a remarkable human being whose presence made the world a little better. He was a gentle giant who I experienced to be generous with his time, knowledge, and overall sweet nature. He surprised me with a beautiful watercolor drawing of my house when my husband and I just moved in. That act of kindness was so appreciated. When I first met Joey, he came in to speak with us about Co-op marketing for the LGBTQ+ community. I remember thinking the whole time how great his hair was and how I wished I could get my hair to do that. He was always kind and he supported BigHorn Rodeo. The world is less bright without him.
