Barry and I met Joe & Ginny Paul when we moved to Reston in 1985. Michael and Amanda were young children. Joe was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. The Paul home was blessed with love and devotion. Joe was a man of faith. He was noble of soul and had a "good name". My late father said that there was no greater honor that a man could have than his "good name"; and he was right! Paul and Ginny grieved deeply when Erica and then Michael passed. But they continued to live in love and spend time with their daughter Amanda, her husband Doug and their 2 grandchildren. Our deepest condolences to our dear friend Ginny and to the whole Paul family. May his memory be a blessing forever.

Ginny and family- I just learned of Joe's passing this afternoon and am so sorry for your loss. My husband Jimmy and I were great friends of John and Betty's and met you and Joe on several occasions when you came to Leesburg. They are all now together and at peace. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May memories of Joe bring peace to your heart.
Sincerely, Dot Kidwell

My wife & I moved into Reston @ the beginning of ‘79 just a couple blocks from Joe & Ginny. We enrolled our youngest, Chip, @ LANK School, & quickly found Michael Paul & later, Amanda. Meanwhile I joined the racquetball club & found Joe. We played there & other clubs 3-4 times a week. I figure over 1,000 matches in our 7 years in Reston. Careers moved us away, but our hearts never left Compass Point Lane. My business trips back kept us close all these years. A gentle giant. A teddy bear. The proverbial softie. St. Peter didn't’ even have to check his photo I.D. He just swung open the gate, bowed deeply, & the angels sang the “Hallelujah Chorus.”

Joe and Ginny have been good friends of ours since Amanda and our elder daughter Ashley swam together at UNH. We have gone on trips together having the best times enjoying one another’s company. Joe was a great man, friend, husband, and father. We will all miss him immensely. May he Rest In Peace now with our Heavenly Father.

Joe was a very caring man - a community leader and servant. We were blessed to have Joe as a vibrant Herndon Rotary Club member since 1992.
