Obituary of Jolie Malo Kelly

Please share a memory of Jolie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jolie Malo Kelly, 63, of Oak Hill, Virginia died on September 14, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Coral Gables, Florida and raised in Paoli, Pennsylvania, she received her Bachelor's degree from Dickinson College and a Master's degree from Georgetown University. She was an educator for over 30 years including 24 years as a Fairfax County elementary school teacher. She spent many years at Bull Run Elementary in Manassas, in addition to London Towne Elementary and Hutchinson Elementary. She most recently taught at Hunters Woods Elementary in Reston.

Two of her greatest passions were performing arts and education.  She was an avid patron of local theater, and once a year, she combined these loves as the director of her school's annual musicals.  She loved bringing out the best in her students and always said they did the same for her.

Jolie was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Joanne Malo. She is survived by her loving husband Patrick Kelly III; her four children Caroline Kelly Olasin (Mike), Megan Kelly Wallace (Nate), Patrick Kelly IV (Nicole), and Holly Kelly Farella (Rich); her grandchildren, Thea, Logan, and Violet, whom she loved to the moon and back; her sister Cynthia Malo Mawn (Kevin) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a cancer research foundation of your choice, the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation by visiting https://cholangiocarcinoma.org/donate/ or an local arts organization meaningful to you.
