I worked with Dale at the surgery center for several years. He started out just one day a week & then came on FT. He took on many other roles and was helpful to myself & many others. I am shocked & saddened to hear of his sudden passing. I just wanted to give my condolences to his family & let you know I’ll be praying for you all...He spoke of his family often & we both have family in Idaho so we had that in common. I know he loved you all so much & I’m sorry for your loss.

Dale, as a dear son of our favorite cousin, we are very very saddened by your sudden passing. You were always so good natured and kind and, apparently, a favorite with your co-workers. We will miss you.

I met Dale a little over a year ago at Reston Surgery Center. I cannot stress how much I loved working with him!
We initially bonded over our similar taste in music. After that, we would always try to work together because we made such a great team and had such a blast. I still cannot believe he won't be at the surgery center making all of us laugh. My deepest condolences to his family and friends - he talked about you guys often!

I was a student when I met Dale at Reston Surgery Center, about 7 years ago, he trained me as a student and I came back as a Certified Tech years later and he took me under his wing and trained me again and he believed in me when I didn't believe in myself, he was a stand up trainer, employee, friend, and I am so saddened to lose him. He got me through many hard times and I miss him dearly...❤

I had the privilege of working with Dale at the Reston Surgery Center. When he was in my room, I knew my day would go smoothly. Dale could answer any question and solve any problem. I was looking forward to working with him on a case this week and was shocked, as were many, at his abrupt passing last weekend.
My favorite memory of Dale happened just last week. We were working late in the OR (he agreed to stay late for me as that was who he was) and I apologized for keeping him there. He said to me, "Dr. Belani, don't you worry...we are renaming the surgery center the 'Dr. Belani Center for Eye Excellence tonight.' " This made everyone in the OR roar with laughter.
That's what he did. He brought joy to people's lives- he brightened our days while always being exceptionally competent. Dale would tune the radio to the 80s station before I arrived because he knew that's what I liked. On one occasion, he ran out to get an heat patch for my painful back before I was to start an afternoon of cases even though I told him not to. He took care of everyone. He was the best of our humanity.
Dale was looking forward to his daughter moving back to this area. His deep love for his family was so apparent in our conversations.
"There must be Borrowed Angels, here in this life
They come along, into this world, and make this world bright
But they can't stay forever
Cause they're heaven sent
And sometimes, heaven needs them back again"
Dale, you were our angel and you will be forever missed.
Sincerely,
Dr. Shaleen Belani

My wife, Ilona Kierstead, and myself came to know Dale through our shared interest in rugby football and cricket.
George Wright introduced us and we spent many happy hours together, keeping up with European rugby and the mighty Springboks - Dale's favorite team - Go Bokke.
One of my fond memories of Dale is our outing to RFK in June 2018.
I am shocked, saddened and in disbelief that this fine young man has been taken from us so soon.
Dale was never anything but kind, gentle spoken and a joy to spend time with.
I extend sincere condolence, on behalf of my wife and myself, to all those members of Dale's family that we have not had the pleasure of meeting.
God Bless and God Speed Dale.

My Dale. So sweet so smart. My Nephew. He was so many things all wrapped up in one. He was a genius, he was gentle, he loved adventure, he was dedicated to family, he was mischievous, impossible not to love, sensitive to peoples needs. He came to stay with me in his teens. My young children fell in love with him and have never forgotten there time with Uncle Dale. He made bad days right again. A blessing from God. A man that brought laughter and smiles to life and at the same time embodied the love of family. I’ve lost a piece of my heart but, the memories I have with and of this young man will keep that void filled. And knowing I will see him again in heaven is a promise I know will be fulfilled. I pray to God my father, Jesus Christ my Savior and the Holy Spirit to help my family in this hour and always. Good night Dale, I will always love and miss you but, I know I will see you again my Daley❤️
