Joseph Leonard Burton was born on January 14, 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland to Joseph and Phyllis (Ragonese) Burton. He passed away on December 20, 2021 in Ashburn, VA

After graduating from Richmond Heights High School in 1967 he would attend George Washington University in Washington, DC

Joe grew up a huge fan of local sports teams including Maryland Basketball, The Baltimore Orioles, but especially the Washington Capitals. Joe had a season ticket for multiple years and he finally got to see them win The Stanley Cup in 2018.

Joe enjoyed music, bowling, softball and spending time with friends and family. Joe retired from the USPS in 2015

He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Edna, and his brother Philip Anthony Burton 

Joe is survived by his maternal Aunt, Anita Ragonese and lifelong family friend, Brenda Pronto; sister Mary Frances Burton (Vito), her husband Thomas Vito, and their son Alex; his brother Michael Burton and his wife Valarie Burton (Priore) their daughter Danielle and son Sean; his brother John Burton and his wife Colleen Burton (Leake), and her son Braeden Keffer-Leake; his brother Patrick Riddlemoser, and his wife Julia Riddlemoser (Koman) and their daughters Francesca and Gabrielle
