Our thoughts and prayers are with the Gormley family. Mary was a friend and neighbor for many years. We works together on the PTA and the Broyhill Crest Community swim club. Our three children and the three Gormley children attended school together at Masonvllle Elementary, Poe Middle School, and Annandale High School. Our families socialized together at many meals and picnics. She will be greatly missed. Because of the current covid surge we will not attend the service in person.

So very sorry to hear of Mary's death. She was a wonderful neighbor in Annandale and I always enjoyed her company. Wonderful memories of times at the local pool with all our kids and enjoying each other and having fun. She was our son Andy's Cub Scout leader for several years and was one of the first to our home when he died. She will not be forgotten.

Your Mom will always and forever remain one of those wonderful people whom I am lucky crossed my life’s path. I have so many fond memories as a young man where Mare, as I very fondly called her, was a key figure of care and character. Always interested, always present, and always full of insight as well as sharing her unique whit and accompanying laughter. She was about as special as they get as evidenced through her involvement and service to both her family, friends, and community. She will be missed beyond measure but live on as an example of a very fine human being. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace Mare.

For all who may be honoring the life of Mary Beth Gormley I would like to be one, who if it were possible I would be in attendance. But present health conditions prevent my being with all who are there to send this note. Mary became a very close friend when my husband and I moved to Annandale. With both Mary and Becky Nichole’s we became close friends thst lasted until we moved to Fallbrook, California. Mary was a wonderful caring new friend who took me in to her family and friends very quickly and as time passed I felt apart of her family. At one point I joined the PTA works thst included our traveling together to meetings all over Virginia. Mary’s family soon became part of my life as well and in the ensuing years her daughter and grand daughter visited me and my family in California. Had Covid not occurred I would have been to visit with her. She will always remain a very special part of my life as will her daughter and grand daughter will hopefully see each other soon. I was blessed to have known Mary and her wonderful family and her other close friend Becky Nichols. Mary I will miss you but am comforted by the fact that you are in God’s arms safely. I shall miss you grayest. Love Karen Morris of Fallbrook, California
