I had the pleasure of working for Sean earlier in my career and will always remember him as a man of faith, family and friendship. It was truly a great privilege of my life to call him a friend. Based on today’s service, it’s evident that I am just one of many who feel that way. I offer my deepest sympathies and prayers to his family and many friends.

Sean and I served together in the Sydney Australia Mission together back in 1988-1990. It was a shock to hear about his illness and passing today. He and I were in different companionships, but we did a lot together, whether it was meeting up for lunch, or going on splits, or just coming over to our flat to chat for a bit. Sean dubbed me as "Apollo Cree" because I was a hockey player who played basketball like I was in a boxing ring. He was a kindred spirit for me over in Australia and always kept it light and at times downright hilarious. Sean had the perfect balance of humor and kindness that often impacted those around him. I will forever remember our friendship and time together over there. He will no doubt be missed by his family and friends everywhere. I love you mate. We will meet again on the other side brother. Keep my seat in the Kingdom warm for me.
Love, Rich "Apollo" Cree

I grew up with Sean and while life took us to different corners of the U.S., we could pick up right where we left off when we talked. I am lucky to have tons of memories with Sean. My fondest memories were of pick up basketball games or dunk contests in and around our neighborhood. Basketball, Run DMC, Rick Springfield, Bon Jovi, mowing lawns and his weird little blue car. I feel lucky to have known him. I am 4 years younger than Sean but he always treated me like an equal, not common when you are only 14. What a fun and funny guy that is a permanent part of my life. He lives perfectly in my memories and always will. Rest In Peace, brother, and enjoy your new work beyond this life. I love you.

He will be sorely missed. He was always a positive and upbeat person.
He was my Rush bud at work and I’ll miss our chats, and he would always have such fun and thoughtful conversations all the time with all of us on slack and zoom.
Especially a lot of conversations about that troublesome set of doors that took him near a extra year to get in haha.
Always was a pleasure to work with him professionally and get to know the great guy he was as a work friend. He’ll be sorely missed. Much love and condolences to all y’all <3

Sean hired me at Neustar in 2014. He was my manager for several years but more importantly my friend. We spent a lot of time talking about sports, music, family, house projects, and life. We kept in touch over the years and would meet up for lunch occasionally to catch up. He was a special person and he loved his family very much. I will miss him and will cherish the memories that I have of him. I am very sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you during this very difficult time.

One of my favorite memories is of going on a double date with my husband Jeff and Sean & Nancy. We went mini golfing at Cascade and out to dinner and, even though Jeff & Sean aren’t always the chattiest of men, they hit it off immediately because Jeff went to New Zealand & Sean went to Australia on their missions. Such a long time ago, but such a good night :)

I have had the pleasure of working with Sean since the fall of 2020. I went back in my emails and found the feedback that I wrote about him after his interview: Sean described his philosophy of servant leadership and seems to authentically walk that out. Also, I asked my usual question of “Who do you read? Who is your guru?” and he was the first of all the candidates to actually reach for several books and show which ones are his latest favorites. I liked that he seems like someone who enjoys a challenge and looking to continuously learn and grow and bring value.
He did indeed walk out servant leadership among our team. He moved us forward without us ever feeling like we were being pushed or prodded. I realize that I only knew a small part of Sean Sperry but I respected everything that I knew about him. He was so proud of his family, his favorite bands and teams, AND his new finally-finished french doors. He will be dearly missed and always remembered.

I had the privilege of working with Sean at Neustar in Orem years ago. He was kind, funny, smart and just an all around good man. I have many great memories including long boarding down Orem canyon, lunches with a great group of colleagues and many chats and even a few prank wars. Sean will be missed and my prayers go out to his family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Nancy and family at this time. So many good memories of the Sperry family in the red brick home in Highland. I remember many early mornings spent on the basketball court with Sean. He didn’t like to lose! May the knowledge of the Gospel plan carry you through this difficult time.

I didn't know Sean well, but loved their family. Nancy,Sean. And Syd would help drive to AF band practices and competitions. I loved visiting at their home. It was always full of love and fun. They had deep love for each other and even their pet rat. We missed them when they moved to Virginia. Love, The Curtin Family
