Sadly I just found out TODAY that Mr. Hart passed away. The last I heard from him was December when he told me I satisfied my requirements and he nominated me for graduation. Never met him in person, only communicated via phone and e-mail (because of the pandemic). He started me on my M.S. journey and assisted until his passing. He was always kind, patient, and encouraging. He also worked magic to get my education funding approved when I missed deadlines haha. It says a lot about a person’s character when they have that much of a lasting and memorable impact and you’ve only interacted a few times via phone and e-mail. Well done Mr. Hart, rest is your reward.

I’m heartbroken to learn of Mr. Hart’s passing. In person, I have never met Mr. Hart and he has never met me. We have only communicated by telephone. In 2019, I was in the Air Force in Virginia and Mr. Hart helped me and my family with a program that relocated us home to Texas. It made my wife and four children so happy to be home. Mr. Hart was cheerful and positive every time I telephoned. He was adamant that he could get me home to Texas. His optimism was a ray of sunshine. His number one priority was to help me…someone he has never met. He made such an impact, that I set a goal to “pay it forward.” I’ve dedicated myself to helping other Service Members and their families in the same way Mr. Hart helped me…and undoubtedly, so many others. Over the years I’ve called Mr. Hart to update him on our progress. He was always so happy to hear it. I was calling this week (March 2022) to give him another update. The woman who answered the phone said, “he doesn’t work here anymore.” I could tell by the tone of her voice. She said, “I have news.” In a moment of weakness, I told her, “No. I didn’t want to hear anymore.” I knew deep down what she wished to tell me. I’m writing this message to his family and friends to give just one more example of what you already know. Mr. Hart’s greatness has touched so many lives! I’m elated to be one of them. Please know Mr. Hart’s legacy lives on, not only with you who love him so much, but with many others whom Mr. Hart has never met. May our Lord be with you and your family Mr. Hart. You're a great man!
Signed,
Albert F. Meza
