Mr. Teddy Bernard Hart, Sr., of Sterling, VA, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022.  He was born on Sunday, December 27, 1953, as the youngest child of the late John Henry Hart, Sr. and Bessie Mae Sims Hart.

Ted was educated in the public schools of Richland County, Columbia, South Carolina. He joined the United States Army at the age of 18 and built a distinguished 23-year career within the military before retiring in 1996, as a Master Sergeant. Prior to his career in education, he worked for Gannett Co, Inc., afterwards he became Campus Director of Stratford University, going on and becoming an Educational Specialist for the Department of Air Force at the Pentagon. While building his career, Ted obtained a Master of Education from Strayer University, a Master of Science, and a Bachelor of Science degree from National Louis University, as well as an Associate degree in Applied Science-General Education from Georgia Military College.

Ted is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry Hart, Sr., and Bessie Mae Sims Hart; four brothers, Thomas E. Hart, Willie B. Hart, John Henry Hart, Jr., and Freddie L. Hart; three sisters, Doris Etheridge, Mary Mayo and Ernestine Williams.

Ted leaves to mourn: his loving wife Wendy W. Hart, daughters, Jessica E. Hart, Victoria S. Hart and Tamekia F. Lewis (Erom) of Virginia, Deitre Brasley Hilton (Curtis) and Chelsea Jones-Hart of South Carolina; Diana Mendoza Martinez, of Mexico. Sons: Bruce Hart (Milka) Teddy B. Hart Jr. (Victoria), Christopher Augustus, of Virginia and Kyle Allen-Hart (Della) of Florida. Sisters: Mattie Middleton (late Paul), Barbara A. Ruff (Willie), Patricia A. Nichols (Kevin), of  South Carolina, Brother: Larry L. Hart (Wanda) of South Carolina, Niece Bessie W. Carver (Dwarn), of Maryland;  nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three aunts, Katherine Sims and Fredrina Hart of New York, Mary Smalls, of South Carolina and two uncles, Harry Sims, of New York and David Sims, Jr., of  South Carolina; a host of nieces and nephews, other loving relatives and friends, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Ted will be remembered as a fun-loving, soft-hearted guy who loved to joke and laugh.  He took pride in enjoying life to its fullest. He was a fanatic for Education, Sports, Music, Cars and Family/ Friends. He took tremendous pride in receiving his black belt in karate at an early age and he was a self-taught pianist. 

The family will receive friends from 10:30am until 11:30am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Adams-Green Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Adams-Green Funeral Home, with Bishop Stephanie Stratford officiating.  Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers: Teddy B. Hart Jr (son)., Bruce Hart (son), Teddy L. Hart (nephew), Marques Dennis (nephew), Mister Yusef Lewis (grandson) and Eric Midder (family friend).
