Obituary of Nancy Fisher Karam

Please share a memory of Nancy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Nancy Fisher Karam passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her home in Ashburn, Virginia, on the eve of Holy Thursday, April 14. She was 75 years of age.

Born May 10, 1946, Nancy was raised in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, as an only daughter of the late Jeanne D. Fisher and Warren L. Fisher. She attended Bloomsburg University and earned a degree in Elementary Education.

Nancy married her high school sweetheart, Tom, and enjoyed her best memories together with him as a devoted wife and mother. With grace and class, she proudly raised her family for over 45 years in Rockville, Maryland. She gave every ounce of herself to her family. Most recently, together with Tom, she enjoyed an active life in a retirement community in Ashburn, Virginia.

Always willing to give up her time for others, Nancy was a true beacon of strength and Faith for both family and friends. A devout Catholic, who was active in bible study, she unequivocally trusted in the Lord. She was a member of Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Tom, of 54 years, and her three children, Alicia (Geoff Harkness), Emily (Joseph Zorc), and Philip (Amy Alderman). By far, her most precious joy was being a beloved Grammy to her eight grandchildren, each of whom she treasured beyond words. Deeply mourning her passing are Gwendolyn (19), Grayson (18), Lauren (18), Joseph (16), Amelia (14), Lucas (9), Parker (6), and Everly (1), as their Grammy was passionately and intricately weaved into each of their lives. She has forever blessed them with countless unforgettable memories that cannot be taken away.

She is preceded in death by her parents as well as her mother-in-law, Amelia Soma Karam, who she lovingly adored. Nancy will be buried in Virginia. A Visitation will be held at Adams-Green Funeral Home in Herndon, Virginia, on April 26, 2022, from 6 – 8 pm. A memorial mass and celebration of life will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Herndon, Virginia, on April 27, 2022, at 11 am. Later, a special mass will be held at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church.
