Cousins,
Words alone cannot ease the pain you have in your heart for your loss, but God’s comfort can mend and heal all broken hearts in time to leave the beautiful memories.
Uncle Micheal was a very loving and kind man. When we were young, Micheal (and Nancy) opened up there home to everyone who came to visit. There were times when it was packed with a bunch of loud wet kids coming from the swimming pool. That continued year after year until you all moved out to start your own family. But because of his kindness and laughter it kept me returning back randomly through the years just to visit and say hello or drop off home baked cookies over the holidays. I would catch him at times watching some old Western or Star Wars movie and had no idea he loved Star Wars until recently (lol). Other times he was cooking up a good ole pot of cabbage. In fact, I think every time I visited he was making some cabbage (lol). That must have been his favorite dish and/or Aunt Nancy’s.
Uncle Micheal had an infectious laugh that made me smile or laugh with him. Such a good hearted soul he was.
During one of my visits with him at the center in Burke he talked about his children. He loves you all (I know you know that). Make him (and Nancy) proud of you all and don’t drift apart like some families do when their parents are gone. Continue being there for one another. We’re all limbs to a strong mighty tree that’s heavily rooted. Limbs tend to fall for reasons only God can answer, but new ones tend to grow. Always make a way and time for your family…everyone is just a text, phone call, or FaceTime away. Uncle Micheal agreed!!
