David Price Obituary
David Louis Price passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home October 12, 2022. He was born September 22, 1936, in Massillon, Ohio, to the late J. Milton Price and Loise Fiebrig Price. He was the husband of Lois Ann Rosche for 62 years. He was a proud 1954 graduate of Washington High School in Massillon. He loved the class reunions and was disappointed that he wasn’t able to attend the reunion in September.
Dave received an AB degree from Harvard College in 1958 and his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1962. He and Lois moved to northern Virginia after he accepted a job at Atlantic Research Corporation. He retired as Contracts Administrator from Atlantic Research/Aerojet in 2002 after forty years’ service.
Dave was an avid reader, and library visits were top priority. He particularly like mysteries, history and World War II books. He was a member of the Friends of Chantilly Library and spent twenty years volunteering at the biannual book sales.
In addition to reading, he loved movies and was quite an authority on who played the various rolls in them. He was the man who stayed to the end of all the movie credits in the theater and even at home on the couch. He loved music, loved to sing and dance in his early days.
In retirement, he and Lois travelled to all fifty states and particularly enjoyed the National Parks and Presidential Libraries. After seeing the U.S., Dave planned trips abroad, sometimes cruising, sometimes land tours. He loved touring the countries of Europe, New Zealand, Canada, South America and the Caribbean. He loved the Panama Canal trip so much he went two times!
Dave was a family man, a loving husband, proud father, grandfather and in June a proud great grandfather. He started the tradition of family beach week in 1994, and it continues today. The best family trip was a cruise to Alaska to celebrate his 50th anniversary with Lois.
Survivors include his wife, Lois, two sons, David (Toni) and Geoffrey (Monique), granddaughters, Anna, Mary and Emma, grandsons, Brandon (Sydney), Kyle, Tyler and Ryan, great grandson, Maverick, sister, Ruth Best of Massillon, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Adams Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA, on October 20th at 11 am with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dave’s memory to Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) or World Central Kitchen Incorporated.
