Obituary of Marvin Jones

Marvin Jones

March 5, 1950 - December 25, 2022

Marvin Jones, 72, was born March 5, 1950, of the late Johnie Mitchel Jones and Juanita Matthews Jones.  He was born and raised in Brownsville, Tennessee, graduating from Carver High School in 1968. He received a Masters Degree in Agricultural Science and was a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity at Tennessee State University.  In 1978 Marvin’s work with the USDA Grain Division brought him and the family to Northern Virginia.  

He was preceded in death by three brothers: Charlie Mitchell Jones,  Jeffery Jones, and 1st SGT. Norris Jones; and three sisters: Vernita Jones, Joyce Springfield and Yvette Forrest.

Marvin leaves to cherish his memory: a loving wife Ella, his daughter, Undra Anita (Will) Boggs of Centreville, VA, son Marvin Rashard Jones (Miranda Bellizia) of Brooklyn, NY and two adoring Granddaughters: Nadia Grace Boggs and Zoe Isabella Boggs both of Centreville, VA. He also leaves behind three sisters: Dr. AnnieJean Chambers of St. Louis, MO, Verbie Smith (Clifton) of Chicago, IL,  Coronda Jones of Jackson, TN; and two brothers:  John T (Gloria) Jones of Decatur, IL and Jason Jones of Brownsville, TN; and step-mother, Mary T. Jones of Brownsville, TN., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

Memorial services will take place Wednesday, February 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA 20171.
