I was deeply saddened to hear about Mr. Barbour's passing. I got to know him just a little as my State Farm agent and he was always kind and patient with me. In particular we had a couple of conversations during the Covid lockdown and I was really touched by things he said. My sincere condolences to his whole family.

I am severely and sincerely heartbroken to accidentally find out the news of William “ Ice” Barbours sudden?… Passing!??? I am in shock and disbelief! I knew William since the 1980’s when he and I were briefly students and basketball teammates@ HSC. I left( he begged me to stay), he went on to have a stellar career there… GREAT GUY, we stayed in touch over the years. Thoughts and prayers are with William's wife, children, family, friends, policyholders, and former SF co-workers.
I had the pleasure of working with William during my time at Tysons SF Claim Center. William was such a great guy, smart, funny, and informative. For the past 20 years or so kept in touch through social media and when I saw he had become a SF agent I knew right away he was going to be a success!
William's presence will be missed by so many people, not for his successes but for his character.
He was a person all of us loved, admired, and looked up to.

Reading the tributes and watching William's service video, it's no wonder why so many people, including myself, had him as a State Farm agent for 20+ years. William never forgot about his clients, whether it was a birthday notice, a follow up on any additional insurance needs or just to say hello. If people made an effort like his every day, the world would truly be a better place.
To the Barbour family, I understand how difficult grief can be, and knowing that Jesus gave us that blessed assurance that those who know HIM and serve HIM will be with HIM forever, you can wake up each day with a smile for William that he is with our risen Lord and Saviour and that William will never walk alone. My prayers are with you all.

I found out recently that William had passed away and was saddened by the news. He was my state farm agent for over 20 years until I moved to NC a couple years ago. Sadly he could not be my agent in NC. He was such a great person, personable and always available for you. I'm very sorry for your loss. He will truly be missed.

I met William the second week after he took over the State Farm agency. We were friendly competitors and enjoyed many, many lunches and tales of insurance joys and woes. William was one of the finest men I've ever known and he was called away too soon. He was a man of faith and a rock to all those who knew him and I feel a better person for having had him as part of my life. Prayers for the family.

I had the honor and pleasure to coach William and his brothers Tracy and Michael in basketball when they were in high school at Western Albemarle HS. I can still see them driving up to practice in William’s car regardless of the time of day or weather conditions. When he became a State Farm agent he became my insurance agent, and he has taken care of my family for many years. My families prayers go out to William’s family - William’s life ended far too soon, and he will be missed more than words can express.
