Obituary of Bruce William Strain

Bruce William Strain, 66, of Herndon, VA and Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away on February 6^th, 2023.

He was born on March 19^th, 1956, to Clyde and June Strain in Albany, GA.

Bruce went on to study Electrical Engineering at Clemson University as well as earning his pilot's license at a young age.

He served in the Army as a Communications Specialist.  After his time in the military, he spent the remainder of this career working in the technology industry consulting with SAP. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving a school bus for Fairfax County Schools.

Bruce had a loving heart for his family.  He lit up every room he walked into. His character was bold, charismatic, ambitious and taking on adventures throughout his life.

Bruce was passionate about piloting his airplanes, snow skiing and enjoying his time with his wife, family and friends at their beach house in NC.

Bruce now joins his son Clyde J. Strain (Son), Clyde W. Strain (Father) and June Strain (Mother) and is survived by Ellen Strain (Wife), Jon Strain (Son), Brian Strain (Son) Sophia Strain (Granddaughter), Debbie Horton (Sister) Randy Horton, Gail Reed (Sister) Tom Reed, Clyde Strain (Brother) Sandra Strain, Bob Strain (Brother) and Carol Godsey (Sister) Robert Godsey, and many more family and friends.
